Educational programmes

Open gate to the world!

Through the educational activities that we carry out, we have set out to invest in the young generation, so that the children have healthy premises to succeed in whatever field they propose to work in and wherever their steps take them in the world.

Alongside language courses, AIST runs non-formal education, personal development and community engagement programmes for children and young people in Baia Mare and across Maramureș County:

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

AIST is the only operational unit in Maramureș for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, supporting young people as they build autonomy, teamwork, perseverance and active volunteering habits.

Multicultural workshops, European culture and civilization

Together with international volunteer teams from over 25 countries, we organize interactive workshops promoting European cultures and civilizations, general knowledge competitions, conversation clubs and events marking international holidays and milestones.

Environmental education and active citizenship

We foster environmental and civic responsibility through greening actions, anti-drug and volunteering awareness campaigns, creative workshops and outdoor sports for children and youth from both urban and rural communities.
